The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-rankedSvitavy (13-8) on the court of third ranked Liberec on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Liberec 87-72 . It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Svitavy. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Liberec dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Svitavy 's 38. They outrebounded Svitavy 40-26 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Filip Novotny (192-1999) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. Center Miroslav Stafl (211-1999, college: Coastal) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Liberec players scored in double figures. Liberec's coach Dusan Bohunicky used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Slovakian point guard Roman Marko (192-1986) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Slovakian power forward Peter Sedmak (207-1985, agency: 011 Sports) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Svitavy. Liberec have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Zlin and Polabi. Svitavy at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. They share it with Litomerice and Pardubice. Liberec is looking forward to face Brno 2 (#4) at home in the next round. Svitavy will play against Polabi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
